The Met Gala Ball 2009

It was an explosion of fashion at the MET Museum’s ‘Model as a Muse’ gala in New York on Tuesday. Hosted by Anna Wintour and Justin Timberlake the good and great of Hollywood royalty turned out en masse. Kate Moss turned up for the event in a gold Marc Jacobs dress with matching turban.

The theme of this year’s show ‘Model as a Muse :Embodying Fashion’ is to explore the relationships between designers and their models stretching back the last fifty years between 1947 – 1997.

Also attending was Victoria Beckham who turned up in a black polka dot dress also by Marc Jacobs.

Madonna turned up with her business partner Guy Oseary in a bizarre creation of a blue skirt, thigh high black boots and a hair accessory akin to bunny ears.

Designers who dressed guests on the carpet included Dolce and Gabbana, who dressed Rihanna (making her first public appearance since her alleged beating by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. Newly- wed brazillian Giselle Bundchen turned up in a stunning blue skirt that showed off her lovely toned legs.
