Michael Jackson is being sued £29m by former Publicist.
Michael Jackson’s former publicist Raymone Bain is suing him for £29m. The ‘King of Pop’ who is currently in rehearsal for a series of concerts in London in July was served the lawsuit accusing the US singer of breaching an employment contract.
Bain claimed that Jackson had agreed to give her a share of profits from deals she arranged and she was “sincerely disappointed in Mr. Jackson’s failure to honor his obligations”.
“Mr Jackson and I have had a long, productive and mutually beneficial business relationship. Unfortunately, Mr Jackson has elected not to honour the financial obligations of our contractual relationship.”
In the lawsuit filed in Washington D.C, Bain, a trained lawyer says Jackson agreed to pay her 10 percent of any agreements she handled. She says he didn’t pay her for negotiating the CD commemorating the 25th anniversary relaunch of the “Thriller” album, the highly publicized series of concerts at the O2 center in London scheduled for this July or for refinancing his loan to keep the Beatles’ song catalog.
She added that the case would result in “theories, accusations and rumours” but said that the truth would come out during the trial.
Despite the lawsuit Bain said she had no regrets working with Michael Jackson. “Despite the action I have been compelled to take for professional and business reasons, when looking back, I have no regrets,” she said.
“Michael Jackson, in my opinion, is the ‘King of Pop’, and I wish him, and his family, only the best.”
Michael Jackson has made no comment on the issue.
