Britain’s Oldest Mum at 66

A 66 year old woman from Suffolk is set to become Britain’s oldest mum. Elizabeth Adeney is 8 months pregnant following IVF treatment.
She received her treatment in Ukraine as most UK fertility clinics will not offer their services to a woman over 50 due to current laws.
It is believed the child will be the wealthy businesswoman’s first, though she has three step-children from a previous marriage. She is the Managing Director of a plastics and textiles firm.
Mrs Adeney has said: “I’m a private person and while I appreciate there may be some publicity I will just ignore it. “This has been a very personal decision and I do not feel I have to give interviews or talk to anyone in the media about what I have decided to do and where I have done it.”
Britain’s oldest mother currently is psychiatrist Dr Patricia Rashbrook. She was 62 when she had a son, Jude, in 2006, using a donated egg from Russia. Her doctor, Severino Antinori, treated her in Russia after the law in Italy, where he formerly operated, changed to make the procedure illegal.
