Terri Seymour who once dated Britain’s Got Talent and American Idol judge Simon Cowell has received a temporary restraining order against a woman accused of choking her outside the Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre where the finals of American Idol was being filmed.
14 stone Janice Thibodeaux who has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanour battery and assault after the alleged altercation said the attack was motivated after seeing Cowell playfully throttle another American Idol judge, Paula Abdul on the final last week.
In the papers filed by Seymour she claims that the attack have left her “in fear for her life and caused her severe emotional distress.” She goes on to claim that she believes that Thibodeaux “will again assault and further harass” her.
After her arrest, Thibodeaux speaking about the assault said: “I wasn’t cool with Simon Cowell choking Paula Abdul on the show last week and with her crying out ‘Help’ as he did so.
“Nobody said anything about that — so I wanted to confront him about it because that is not appropriate behaviour, is it?
A hearing for the order is due to take place on June 16, while Thibodeaux’s arraignment is scheduled for June 4.
