Susan Boyle Admitted to Priory Clinic

Susan Boyle, the runner up in last Saturday’s Britain’s Got Talent final has been admitted to the Priory Clinic in London. Police were called at 6.00PM Sunday evening and after being assesed under the Mental Health Act, it was decided she was suffering from exhaustion and taken voluntarily to the clinic.
Boyle who was the odds on favorite to win the show had shown signs of the immense pressure she was under even before Saturdays final when she is alleged to have sworn in front of shocked guests when Piers Morgan, one of her biggest fans and a judge on the show heaped praise on one of the other contestants. The Scottish singer is said to have reacted with fury when Piers Morgan described young rival Shaheen Jafargholi as producing “pound for pound the best singing performance in the semi-finals”.
She allegedly made a two finger gesture at the T.V, shouting “F%ck Off!” before storming off.
After her shock defeat in Saturday’s final, Boyle ran down a corridor shouting “I hate this show”, according to newspaper reports. She also allegedly threw water over a floor manager who tried to calm her down.
Television company Talkback Thames which produces the show said Boyle was “exhausted and emotionally drained” and was taking a few days off.
“She has been seen by her private GP who supports her decision to take a few days out for rest and recovery,” the company said. “We offer her our ongoing support and wish her a speedy recovery.”
Over 19 million people tuned in to the final show with Boyle garnering 20.2 percent of the vote in the final, behind the dance group Diversity, which won 24.9 percent of the 4 million votes cast.
Boyle gained international fame after her audition on Britain’s Got Talent was watched over 100 million times on Youtube and went on to appear on the Oprah show and on Larry King Live.
