The Eyes Have It – Perfect Eyebrow Tips

The eyes have been described as the windows to the soul. Well if the eyes are the windows, the eyebrows are certainly the gateway. Well groomed eyebrows can enhance your appearance and as with most things, it is the little things that can make a lot of difference. Follow these steps to get perfect eyebrows everytime.

• Sharp tweezers are a must. You might find it easier to use slanted tweezers if you are a beginner. You will also need an eyebrow brush, eyebrow scissors, brow pencil and eyebrow gel.
• Prepare the eyebrows. Moisten the skin around the eyebrows. Soak a cotton ball in water and wipe around the brow area. Better still, pluck them after a shower.
• Always follow the natural outline of your eyebrows. Hold your eyebrow pencil vertically from your nostril. This is where your eyebrow should begin. Your brow should begin at your tear duct, which is above your nostril. It should be even with the inside corner of your eye, peak at the outer edge of your iris and end at the outer corner of your eye. Any hair that is visible beyond the pencil should be tweezed.
• Next, hold the same eyebrow pencil at a 45 degree slant from your nostril. This is where your eyebrow should end – at the outer edge of your iris.To find the arch, which is the highest point of the brow, place the pencil diagonally where it should hit the middle of the mouth, nostril, and outside edge of the iris. Tweeze gradually the line from the arch to the start of the eyebrow.
• Brush the eyebrows upwards and trim. Then brush downwards and trim the remaining long hairs. Be careful when trimming any excess hair above the top of your natural arch. Taking too much off will leave your brow with “bald” spots.
• Now get the tweezers and pull out any stray hair. Pull in the direction of growth to avoid breaking the hair mid shaft. Avoid the temptation to over pluck. Look in the mirror to see how you are faring.
•  Use brow powder closest to your hair colour to give defination to the brow and fill in any patches with small strokes of an eyebrow pencil. Finally apply the eyebrow gel to keep everything in place.

With your eyebrows groomed and powdered, you don’t need extra make up, you will have that natural beauty and feel so much more confident.
