After landing bare bottomed on Eminem’s face at the recent MTV movie awards, Sacha Baron Cohens camp comedy creation the Austrian TV presenter Bruno strolled into Leicester Square to promote his latest film. Dressed in black leather hotpants and a bearskin hat he wowed the crowd with a series of outlandish poses.
Accompanying him down the red carpet were a group of men who marched alongside him and who were as outrageously dressed as he was.
Standing still for the National Anthem, the group broke into frenzied dancing as the music changed to techno. The film is about Bruno’s bid for fame in LA after being sacked from his Austrian television fashion show Funkyzeit and his aim at becoming “the most famous Austrian since Hitler”.
Gay groups in America have raised concerns about the film and in April, Texas congressman Ron Paul accused him of fraud, after being unwittingly tricked into a hotel room with BrĂ¼no who posed as an economics reporter.
